Well my life at the moment seems to consist of going to my day job the whizzing home back to Hebden Bridge and having a meeting with Helen or someone from the council or a muso. I love it but it also means I officially now have no life.

I'm trying to juggle World on your Doorstep with my full time job, my roller derby commitments, my friends and family and writing essays. But life is indeed for living so let's get busy trying...or something.

At least the sun is shining and Hebden is looking beautiful.

Task for this week is to sort the launch night at the Trades club once and for all. It's been more difficult than it should have been due to having no money to pay bands and it getting harder to persuade people to do it for beer and cake. I hope my next contact comes through or i'm lost.

Beginnings

ok here's the first post.
My life has currently been taken over with meetings, negotiations and lying in bed at night with my brain whirring.

Myself and Helen who are putting the festival on in July 2011 in gorgeous Hebden Bridge and we are doing something mad, out of our comfort zone, exciting, maddening, tiring and fun. We hope that a merry band of Hebdenites will join us in our journey and help make World On Your Doorstep 2011 a roaring success.

It seems like so far away yet so near and a meeting with the council this week brought home just how much needs doing and thinking about (complaints about mud on the path during heavy rainfall...really....really!).

So any volunteers, bands, performers, jugglers, clowns, cabaret acts, dj's, world music acts and acoustic performers in the West Yorkshire/ South Pennines/ Manchester area who want to lend a hand please get in touch.

We can't give you big money but we can make a good cake!
