Hebden Bridge is a gateway to many different cultural communities which 'The World On Your Doorstep' (WOYD) hopes to bring together in this festival. It is hoping to be be an eclectic mix of local and international music, food and dance.
The stage will showcase local and international groups, with a dance space and drumming tent for both sessions and workshops. There will be a world market place, independent shops, fair trade goods, international food. There will be childrens activities, art displays, disabled access. No alcohol will be for sale on site.
'WOYD' will be a way to share the positive aspects of our different cultures in a world where differences can create confict and war. It also recognises how diverse the South Pennies are, and our tradition of welcoming different groups.
There will be a number of events and workshops to volunteer for through out the year.
